This thesis proposes to go through the narratives produced in the context of the Eye Lab, a discipline offered at the Federal University of São Paulo, for undergraduate and graduate students in the health field, seeking to contribute to professional and personal training, and to create a humanizing and welcoming environment. The discipline has contemplative photography as its central element - a technique that articulates photography and meditation through the exercise of a gaze devoid of judgment, anchored in an open and curious state of mind, favoring presence and attention to harmony and simplicity in everyday life. Addressing, from a cartographic perspective, the classes held between 2016 and 2019 - the field of experience where I collected the data - nine interview-photo essays were conducted, in addition to using the photographs produced in class exercises, as well as the researcher's field diary. Taking into consideration the training, and seeking to explore, in these narratives, paths based on presence, contemplation, and group discussion, the students were invited to participate in a strategy here called tell-create. This is an interview-photographic essay that, starting from the oral history format, in articulation with photographic narrative and with objects called biographical, proposes the creation of a photographic essay that is at the same time the narrative of a life trajectory in which the circular concept of "doing together" connects gaze, memory and creation. As a theoretical base, the thesis privileges some concepts, such as biography, formulated by Roland Barthes, narrative, by Walter Benjamin, experience, as presented by Jorge Larrosa Bondía, as well as memory, presence, minor gestures, articulating them with perspectives of humanization and contemplation. By retracing the story-telling, from a cartographic perspective, clues emerged about the meaning of the experiences lived, and the repercussions narrated by the participants. Thus, it was possible to glimpse gaps, to be surprised by the openings produced in the storytelling-creation, and, from that, to evidence the creative potential of the strategy, whether by breaking the paradigm of the separation between researcher-researched, or by the expansion of the gaze resulting from the insights of the contemplative photography exercises. In its unfolding, the thesis signals paths that, crossing different fields, explore joint creation and the exchange of experiences, contemplation and attention to the simple, doing with the body and the depths of memory and of portraits. Such paths show themselves as humanizing ways through the deepening and appropriation of their own experience, the reflexive capacity and the expansion of the sphere of action in the world.
