This work was developed with the aim of analyze the initial formation of science teachers by the bachelor degree in Science, in the Federal University of São Paulo. Our focus was on the theme of radiation teaching focused on Elementary Education II. This course is structured in eight semesters, in which four of them correspond to a basic cycle, with disciplines called Basic Scientific and disciplines of the Humanities. The other four semesters are composed by specific disciplines of the chosen qualification: Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For this, we invited students started from the 5th semester, so, in this manner, there were more chances that the chosen individuals have already finished the basic cycle, attending disciplines that approach the theme focused in this work. A questionnaire was made via online form to select the candidates. Seventy people, with different qualifications, graduating and graduated, participated at this stage, and twelve of them were invited to participate at the next processes, being four of each qualification, two graduating and two graduated, except for the qualification in Mathematics, due to the lack of candidates. These twelve selected answered to a characterization questionnaire of basic and superior formation, and also developed, individually, a conceptual map about the subject of radiation. Criteria were created to analyze these maps, besides the criteria already established in the literature. Starting from this, we associated this analysis with informational pyramid, of Machado (2008) made by data, information, knowledge and intelligence, as well as to the presence of concepts related to the abilities to be developed, which are indicated by the BNCC. With these, we observed that one person was classified in the level of data, eight in the level of information and three in the level of knowledge.
