Resumo
O Romance de Alexandre surgiu se espalhando por diversas regiões diferentes da antiga e medieval Ásia, África e Europa, ganhando a cada diferente tradução aspectos religiosos e culturais novos, que se diferenciavam a cada versão. Visando isso, esse projeto tem como objetivo confrontar duas traduções provenientes da recensão δ, sendo essas a síria e a árabe, do Romance de Alexandre, com o intuito de identificar as interferências culturais e religiosas tanto cristãs quanto islâmicas presentes nas figuras de Alexandre Magno. Para isso, será usado um episódio no qual o rei macedônio estabelece uma barreira contra as nações de Gog e Magog, cujo estabeleceremos um paralelo entre esses personagens com as suas interpretações anteriores aos elementos religiosos postos no Romance de Alexandre.
The Alexander Romance spread across several different regions of ancient and medieval Asia, Africa and Europe, gaining new religious and cultural aspects with each different translation, which differed with each version. With this in mind, this project aims to compare two translations from the δ recension, namely the Syrian and the Arabic, of the Alexander Romance, with the aim of identifying the cultural and religious interferences, both Christian and Islamic, present in the figures of Alexander the Great. For this, an episode will be used in which the Macedonian king establishes a barrier against the nations of Gog and Magog, and we will establish a parallel between these characters and their previous interpretations of the religious elements included in the Alexander Romance.
