Introduction: Early childhood is a crucial phase for human development in all its aspects, as a significant portion of Central Nervous System maturation occurs during this period. Monitoring neuropsychomotor development during early childhood is of paramount importance, as it allows for early detection of potential developmental alterations and enables the tracking of developmental milestones in children. Objective: To assess the development of children in the first 24 months attending daycare. Method: In this cross-sectional study, infants aged 10 to 24 months attending daycare were evaluated. The Ministry of Health's Development Surveillance Instrument, found in the Child Health Booklet (CHB), was used to assess motor and cognitive development. The Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development – Infant Scale (AHEMD-IS) questionnaire was employed to evaluate stimulation opportunities provided in the home environment, and the Brazilian Association of Research Companies questionnaire was used to classify family economic status. Results: Of the 19 infants assessed, 16 were classified with appropriate development, 1 with developmental alert, and 2 with probable developmental delay. Regarding the socioeconomic level of families, there was homogeneity among classes B1 (26.3%), B2 (26.3%), and C1 (26.3%), indicating that 78.9% of families had a household income ranging from R$ 3,276.76 to R$ 10,361.48. Concerning parental education, the majority had completed high school. AHEMD-IS instrument results indicate that most home affordances were classified as excellent (n=7) and adequate (n=6), with fewer classified as moderately adequate (n=5) and only one as less than adequate. Conclusion: It was found that the majority of assessed infants exhibited appropriate motor development. Furthermore, family socioeconomic class demonstrated homogeneity, with similar representation in classes B1, B2, and C1. Home affordances were mostly classified as excellent and adequate..
