Interactions between metal ions and pesticides provide additional information regarding the utilization of chemical compounds in soils and aqueous media. This interaction tends to generate harmful substances for human health and the environment itself, especially in areas of the field where the present action brings harm to the food grown. The recent growth in the number of pesticides released by the Ministry of Agriculture has made environmental remediation even more difficult, based on the release of pesticides applied in other regions of the world. As a result, it became relevant to investigate effective and agile techniques for investigating these species in different samples. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze and discuss the main methods used to evaluate the interaction between metal ions and pesticide molecules in the environment. Therefore, a bibliographic review was applied through a qualitative research in the Web of Science database., as it is one of the most used databases, in a period from 2000 to 2022. As for the results, it was observed that spectroscopic techniques are the most used because they are efficient both in soil investigations and in aquatic environments. In addition, it was concluded that aqueous media are the most studied samples on the interaction of pesticides and metals, due to the effect caused to aquatic plants. Electroanalytical methods were also contemplated in this search as a possibility of low-cost evaluation.
