The thesis discusses Benjamin's statement according to which Brecht would have tried, in his theater, to embody a non-tragic hero. For this, it presents Benjamin's reading of ancient Greek tragedy in order to counteract the artistic procedures used by avant-garde theater as attempts to overcome the tragic model of theater. The central thesis is that Benjamin sees this overcoming taking place in Brechtian theater from the entry into the scene of a hero whose body does not present itself as another of the technique, but in conflicting harmony with it.
