Over the years, medical equipments has become more used in healthcare facilities, assisting in diagnostics and surgical procedures. Therefore, it is necessary professionals capables to manage these machines, avoiding that they cause any risk to the patient. It is in this scenario that the emerged the clinical engineers, responsibles for applying scientific and technological knowledge to assist clinical activities in the health area. One way to perform this function is to plan preventive maintenance, which can be defined as planned appointments throughout the year, to avoid possibilities of equipment failures. To define the maintenance order, normally it is used prioritization models, which are algorithms created to rank the machines. In literature, it is possible to find researches about prioritization models, whoever, most articles describe just one method, applying it in a specific environment. For this reason, this article aims to compare four prioritization methods, facilitating the understanding of its concepts and operation. The selected models were: risk-oriented maintenance system (ROMSYS), by Wang, by American Hospital Association (AHA) and by Anderson. The models were applied in a simulated environment and, at the end, it was observed that there were many similarities between the results, even if the form of evaluation was different. Finally, it is expected that this work promotes the interest of others in the topic of preventive maintenance, enabling more related research in the future.
