medicinas tradicionais e práticas corporais integrativas e complementares.
selecionadas para a busca: BMJ (British Medical Journal); JAMA (Journal of American
Medical Association ); Ovid; MEDLINE/PubMed; SciELO; Science (AAAS);
ScienceDirect (Elsevier); Wiley Online Library; SpringerLink (MetaPress); SCOPUS
(Elsevier); CINAHL (EBSCO).
diferentes tradições dentro do Yoga.
The new formulation of health policies in the last decade include encouraging the production of comprehensive care and humanizing as well as encouraging the use of traditional medicines and complementary and integrative corporal practices. In the field of Physical Education, the so-called corporal alternative practices such as Yoga, have been widely used as a means of promoting health in the last decade and found an increase in the area of studies on the effects of these corporal practices as a complementary resource in the treatment of chronical diseases.A review of the literature was performed with a qualitative approach in order to analyze the use and effect of Yoga in the care of people being treated for chronical diseases and discuss the standardization of scientific protocols involving cultural practices,in particular, Yoga. The methodology consists of a literature review, based on the following bases selected for the search: BMJ (British Medical Journal),JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association),Ovid,MEDLINE/PubMed,SciELO,Science (AAAS); Science Direct (Elsevier), Wiley Online Library, Springer Link (MetaPress), SCOPUS (Elsevier),CINAHL (EBSCO). From the results, the research brings the hypothesis that the cultural complexity of Yoga can be a hindrance to scientific rationalization, knowing that there was the impossibility of generalizing the beneficial effects of the practice, which can be attributed to problems of standardization of the protocols, and the existence of different traditions with in Yoga
