- ItemSomente MetadadadosAplicação do prwe na fratura da extremidade distal do rádio: comparação e correlação com desfechos consagrados(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2016-08-31) Paranaiba, Vinicius Ferreira [UNIFESP]; Santos, Joao Baptista Gomes dos Santos [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Background: In medical research, it is necessary to have appropriate tools to assess the treatments effectiveness. Lately self reported structured questionnaires have been widely used. Recently, there is increasing use of Patient-rated wrist evaluation(PRWE). Against this background and in our service, few studies compared PRWE to the usual subjective and objective measures. Objective: The study aim was to evaluate the correlation between the PRWE score with other measures already widely used. Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study, single center. Sixty-eight consecutive patients underwent surgical treatment for distal radius fractures (internal fixation by locked volar plate or transarticular external fixation). Were evaluated independently by PRWE, DASH, VAS range of motion, strength and radiographic criteria, in 1 year follow up. We used the Mann-Whitney test to compare continuous variables and the Spearman correlation to correlate the outcomes in interest. Results: PRWE correlated significantly with DASH (p <0.001) and VAS (p <0.001). There was no significant correlation with another outcome measures. Conclusion: PRWE presentes significant moderate correlation only with DASH and VAS. Range of motion, strength and radiographic criteria do not interfere in the PRWE outcome.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosDesenvolvimento de um sistema computacional para aplicação do teste distinctive feature difference (dfd) em português brasileiro(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2015-01-31) Takagaki, Luiz Koiti [UNIFESP]; Iorio, Maria Cecilia Martinelli Iorio [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)There are several tests to assess the results of the hearing aid fitting process. Among these tests, there are speech recognition tests, which evaluates response of hearing impaired for essential stimulus of human communication. Language differences impose severe restrictions on use of tests developed and made available outside the Brazilian territory. Tests using nonsense syllables, for example, the Distinctive Feature Difference Test (DFD test; Feeney and Franks, 1982), are tools whose objective is to evaluate the detection of different consonants in the middle of vowel stimuli, providing an alternative and / or complement to the monosyllable recognition test. The DFD test, in its initial proposal, used a set of 13 consonants in vowel / consonant / vowel (VCV) format (e.g. aca, aza, afa). The patient's task is to identify the words issued. The score is performed in terms of overall accuracy and supplemented by information on the confusion pattern between the consonant sounds The goal of this research was to develop a computational tool for the application of DFD test in Brazilian Portuguese. The developed material uses the recording of syllables in Portuguese in VCV format. There are 19 consonants interspersed by ?a? vowel. The acoustic tuning of the material was carried out according to international standards and use of this test in Brazil, using a standardized computer system that performs the test end to end, allowing superior performance in quality and runtime. The computational system DFD test was developed to automate the application of this test and allow automatic tabulation of collected data. The purpose of this tool to improve application speed and increase the reliability of the test.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Medidas de avaliação em lúpus eritematoso sistêmico(Sociedade Brasileira de Reumatologia, 2011-02-01) Freire, Eutília Andrade Medeiros; Souto, Laís Medeiros; Ciconelli, Rozana Mesquita [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal da Paraíba; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune and multifactorial disease, whose diagnosis is based on clinical and laboratorial parameters. This study aimed at investigating assessing measures in SLE available in the literature by using the method of integrative review of the literature. The bibliographic research was conducted through the search for scientific articles indexed in general health sciences databases, such as the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS), MEDLINE/PubMed, and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO). The following descriptors were used: assessment and lupus; quality of life and lupus; damage and lupus; activity index and lupus; and patient outcomes and lupus. The selected publications showed three domains of SLE assessment: assessing measures of disease activity; assessing measures of damage caused by the disease; and assessing measures of quality of life. The study showed that the patients' perception of health status and quality of life and the impact of the disease and its treatment can be better evaluated using the measures proposed by the authors
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Métodos de avaliação de resultados da assistência de enfermagem(Associação Brasileira de Enfermagem, 2003-02-01) Adami, Nilce Piva [UNIFESP]; Yoshitome, Aparecida Yoshie [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)This review study aimed at the theoretical and methodological assessment of nursing care outcome. The study focused on the element outcome as a means to assess the nursing care service quality as well as on the nursing care classification and on the main methods and strategies used for assessing the outcome of nursing care, provided by health services.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Monitoramento e avaliação dos efeitos colaterais da quimioterapia em pacientes com câncer de cólon(Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto / Universidade de São Paulo, 2004-10-01) Almeida, Elizabeth Pinto Magalhães de [UNIFESP]; Gutiérrez, Maria Gaby Rivero de [UNIFESP]; Adami, Nilce Piva [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)This study aimed to monitor and evaluate the occurrence and intensity level of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea in patients with colon cancer, submitted to outpatient chemotherapy, who received nursing information for handling these symptoms. Study participants were 17 patients, who were treated with 5-Fluorouracil and low doses of folinic acid, at the Adult Outpatient Chemotherapy Clinic of the Hospital São Paulo/Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil. Instruments were elaborated for registering these symptoms' occurrence and intensity level and a patient guide for handling them. The information and patient monitoring were carried out by the nurse during the consultations. The results showed that most of the patients (82.4%) displayed at least one of the signs and symptoms under study between the first and the 21st day of the treatment cycle. Nausea was the most frequent symptom (76.5%), with a peak on the 4th and 5th day of the cycle, followed by diarrhea (70.5%), with a peak on the 7th day, and vomiting (53.0%), with a peak on the 5th day. Regarding the intensity of these symptoms, most patients were classified as level 1, which was established as acceptable for this study. These results indicate that the nursing instructions and the continuous monitoring contributed to the effectiveness of the patient's symptom management.
