Thus, we seek to understand the correlations between the context of conflict, exclusion and violence towards the production and aesthetics of graffiti, exploring the relationship of these expressions in daily life in these regions. To do so, we started from the registration of these communications as primary documentation and, based on the description of these objects and the bibliographical survey, analytical and comparative procedures were performed to understand the most common themes and signs and how they mobilize repertoires and transmit messages to their viewers. The central axes articulated in communications were then observed and compared with graffiti produced in the cities of Tel-Aviv (Israel), Cairo (Egypt), Beirut (Lebanon), Tripoli (Libya), Aden (Yemen), in Tehran (Iran) and Tunis (Tunisia) with a focus on the first half of the 2010’s, because of the great proliferation and documentation of this language in the period. Subsequently, these productions were compared to the Brazilian graffiti scene. This process aims to document, describe, analyze, compare practices and aesthetics, observing the differences between them, as well as the points of similarity in graphite productions. Therefore, it was possible to observe the presence of regional characteristics and also aspects specific to the logics of the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Thus, it is argued that graffiti produced in Gaza and the West Bank are part of a broad communicative and aesthetic system, articulating local traditions, socio-political demands of local populations and the international repertoires mobilized there. In addition, graffiti is not only crossed by socio-cultural issues arising from the panorama, but it is also an important mechanism for activism mobilizations, daily reminding the population of the conflict and instructing new generations about collective agendas, connecting past and future in discourses that directly associate the individual with the nation

- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Israelenses e Palestinos: a questão da identidade no documentário Nosotros, ellos e yo (2015), de Nicolás Avruj(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2020-02-19) Lodos, Claudinei [UNIFESP]; Osman, Samira Adel [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São PauloThe documentary NEY: Nosotros, Ellos y Yo (2015), directed by Nicolás Avruj, depicts the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians from the standpoint of an Argentinian Jew in crisis with his identity. In 2000, during the second Intifada, the director travelled to the Middle East, filming the area and interviewing both Israelis and Palestinians. The trip concerns for a deep look into traditions and knowledge of both peoples, whose histories do not refer to Arabian or Jewish culture only, but mainly to long-standing political confronts. The Argentinian documentary is autobiographic and came out of the travel experience and of an editing process that took fifteen years to be launched. The issue about the Jewish identity pervades the movie and can be understood from the director trip and the period of time in which he remained producing the film. NEY’s subjectivity is highlighted by the conflict representation between Israel and Palestine made through the fact reminiscence which took place in 2000 during the director’s journey.
