- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Efeitos e intervenções baseados em mindfulness no tratamento de Transtorno do Interesse / Excitação Sexual Feminino(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2020) Braga, Vanessa Martins de Souza [UNIFESP]; Wilson, David [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2974836560931771; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Low libido is the number one complaint among women. Being distracted during sexual activity hinders body perceptions experimented while arousal. Mindfulness practice has been applied in the treatment of sexual dysfunction in women and the results are positive over the last years. The purpose of this article is to analyse scientific evidences available in data banks which bring the effects and intervention based on mindfulness in the treatment of women with Interest/Arousal Dysfunction. It is an Integrative Revision of Literature based on the database of MEDLINE. 88 scientific articles in English were found. After applying exclusion criteria, four articles were selected to this very revision. It was observed a meaningful increase in the sexual arousal and in the sexual activity itself and a decrease in pain related to sexual activity after the treatment, however the study cases need adequate control and standardization for scientific method reference.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Intervenções baseadas em Mindfulness em pacientes com diagnóstico de câncer de cabeça e pescoço(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2020) Pereira de Souza, Rafael [UNIFESP]; Wilson, David [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2974836560931771; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4643289545572174; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)The patient with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (CPB) faces great psychological challenges during his treatment when compared to other oncological specialties. As a result of invasive treatment, depressive conditions associated with physical and functional deficiencies that have occurred through the intervention method have often been described. Mindfulness-based interventions (IBM) have been described as an alternative for psychological coping with cancer in the oncology population in general. In addition, previous studies in patients with head and neck cancer show results that are in line with studies of other oncological populations. The following proposal has the objective of promoting a discursive reflection on the results about the studies that used or that had as theme the Interventions Based on Mindfulness in patients affected by Head and Neck Cancer. The elaboration of this work followed the methodological guidelines along the lines of an integrative review. The bibliographic research showed, after using the filters, inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 06 articles that met the requirements of the work. Despite a small number of studies that used Mindfulness-based Interventions directly or even indirectly in patients with head and neck cancer, the results are promising and reproducible for further studies in this population.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Mindfulness e Tomada de Decisão(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2020) Bicalho, Sandra Meneses [UNIFESP]; Wilson, David [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2974836560931771; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Introduction: An emerging area in Cognitive Psychology has investigated modern interventions, such as Mindfulness, which could improve the neural and cognitive mechanisms of the executive functions and therefore apply them to improve the ability of decision-making. This Integrative Revision gathers available studies about the theme Mindfulness and Decision-making. Objective: The objective of the present study was to gather scientific and academic works about the effects of Mindfulness in the decision making and convert dispersed information in evidenced knowledge to verify if and how Mindfulness can improve the competence of human decision in several contexts (individual, social, parental, clinic and economic), compiling the existing neuroscientific evidence about it. Methods: This is an integrative descriptive review, with the research strategy to find records in which both the English terms Mindfulness and Decision-making were present simultaneously. Results: The results suggest that Mindfulness: (i) improves, specifically, the ability to evaluate the possibilities of action and its consequences (value assessment), one of the facets of decision making; (ii) increases neural synchronicity between the frontal and pariental regions of the brain; (iii) contributes to pro-social decision making, showing increased activation of the left septal region of the brain, linked to the social; (iv) improves the ability to make decisions in stressful situations and in contexts where emotional regulation and self-efficacy are required. Conclusion: All of these results illuminate an important possibility of clinically and socially sustaining Mindfulness to positively impact the ability of decision-making.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Prática de Mindfulness no Sistema Prisional(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2020) Pedrette, Washington Luis [UNIFESP]; Wilson, David [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2974836560931771; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Understand how the practice of mindfulness can influence quality of life and emotional self-regulation, in subjects in the prison system. Objective : this study aimed to understand interventions based on mindfulness in the prison system. Method: an integrative literature review was carried out using the mindfulness descriptors in the prison system in the Pub med and Lilacs, Scielo research bases. Results : 8 studies were found that include the inclusion criteria. The studies showed that the practice of mindfulness in the prison system promotes quality of life, with better coping with stress, emotional self regulation, showing improvements in anger control, and improvements in cognitive performance and emotional self-regulation. Conclusion: The practice of mindfulness in the prison system proved to be very promising in the treatment of traumas, although the prison system has variables that hinder the research methodology due to the length of time, adequate space and the support of the prison system. need for research that deepens the investigation to study the effects of meditation on subjects in conditions of incarceration, with an experimental appropriate and adapted to the prison context.
