PATRIOTAS, MÃES E ESPOSAS: UM ESTUDO DA REPRESENTAÇÃO DAS MULHERES NOS PERIÓDICOS ESTUDANTIS EM SÃO PAULO (1889-1930)

Resumo
Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de pesquisas realizada sobre a participação das mulheres nas organizações estudantis do ensino superior e profissionalizante no Estado de São Paulo entre o final do século XIX e o início do século XX. Para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa, foi feito o levantamento dos periódicos produzidos por estes órgãos/associações, em seguida, empreendeu-se a análise temática destes documentos buscando identificar a participação das mulheres nestes colegiados, tanto de forma ativa assumindo cargos e autoria de textos, quanto de maneira indireta, sendo citadas nos artigos e na própria existência de “colunas femininas”. Deste modo, através das fontes documentais e bibliográficas, foi possível estabelecer três categorias para a elaboração da análise dos periódicos publicados por estudantes: 1) textos produzidos pelas mulheres 2) textos destinados às mulheres e 3) textos produzidos sobre as mulheres, mas não necessariamente destinados a elas. Percebe-se que ao mesmo tempo em que as organizações estudantis eram incorporadas ao discurso de consolidação de espaços democráticos que ascendiam no contexto histórico e social, foram também palco de reproduções de valores e identidades ditas masculinas e/ou femininas.
This paper presents the results of researches carried out on the participation of women in student organizations of higher and professional education in the State of São Paulo between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. For the development of this research, a survey was made of the periodicals produced by these bodies / associations, then, the thematic analysis of these documents was undertaken, seeking to identify the participation of women in these collegiate bodies, both actively assuming positions and authoring texts, as in an indirect way, being cited in the articles and in the very existence of “female columns”. Thus, through documentary and bibliographic sources, it was possible to establish three categories of analysis: 1) texts produced by women 2) texts produced about women 3) texts produced by women, but not necessarily intended for them. It can be seen that at the same time that student organizations were incorporated into the discourse of consolidating democratic spaces that ascended in the historical and social context, they were also the stage for reproductions of so-called male and / or female values and identities.
