The purpose of this current research was to evaluate the strength from the knee extensors from the male volleyball athletes’ legs, on the squat exercise, comparing with the potency with the vertical jump, observing the relation between them. The example examined was made of 10 volleyball players with age between 17 and 18 years old. The performance from the vertical jump was verified through the technique: countermovement jump with the use of the top members and without the use of the top members. To evaluate the strength was done the test with 1 maximum repetition (1MR) on the exercise of squat without weights. With the result, we could see that that was a moderate correlation of 0.57 and 0.60, on both jumps: with Top Members (TM1) and on the one without Top Members (TP2), respectively. So we can conclude that our study presents us a moderate correlation between the maximum strength and the jump potency, on both jumps TP1 and on the jump TP2.
