Esta dissertação se propõe a estudar a construção formal e a representação alegórica da guerra civil em duas recepções da Antígona de Sófocles: Antígona adaptación muy libre de la tragédia de Sófocles (1945), de José María Pemán, e La tumba de Antígona (1967), de María Zambrano, a partir dos temas do fratricídio e do sepultamento. A tragédia sofocleana, ambientada num cenário de pós-guerra civil, tem por cerne a desobediência de Antígona ao édito de Creonte, seu tio e rei, que proíbe o enterro dos inimigos de Tebas, entre os quais se incluía o irmão da protagonista, Polinices, bem como as ações dessa heroína trágica ao padecer das consequências de sua rebeldia. Assim, considerando os conceitos propostos pela teoria da recepção e seus desdobramentos no âmbito dos Estudos Clássicos, nos interessa analisar os pontos de contato entre a fonte clássica e suas releituras modernas.
This dissertation intends to study the formal construction and the allegorical representation of the Spanish civil war in two works that can be read as receptions of Sophocles’ Antigone: Antígona adaptación muy libre de la tragedia de Sófocles (1945), by José María Pemán, and La tumba de Antígona (1967), by María Zambrano, through the analysis of the themes of fratricide and burial. At the heart of the Sofoclean tragedy, set in a post-civil war scenario, is both Antigone's disobedience to the edict of Creon, her uncle and king of Thebes, which forbids the burial of the enemies of the city, among which is the protagonist's brother, Polinices, as well as the actions of this tragic heroine when suffering the consequences of her rebellion. Thus, considering the concepts proposed by the reception theory and its development within the scope of Classical Studies, the analysis will be focused on the points of contact between the classical source and its modern readings.
