A pesquisa
fadiga, confusão e distúrbio do humor.
Substance Screening Test (ASSIST) e apontou diferença significativa do uso abusivo do álcool e
Introduction: The maintenance and use of alcohol and smoking, as well as the social involvement that brings the use of psychoactive substances by college can bring many complications, from physical to emotional and may cause changes in mood states and possible reduced levels of physical activity for this population. Method: The study was qualitative, exploratory and comparative between groups, with the control group (CON), composing a sample of 19 research participants who did not use alcohol and smoking in the last three months and the concomitant group (CONC), composing a sample of 19 participants who use alcohol and smoking. The research involved 38 participants (n = 38). Including factor for the CON group was participants who did not use alcohol and smoking in the last three months. As inclusion for the CONC group participants should have to make use of alcohol and smoking in the last three months. The exclusion factors occurred in noncompliance regarding the characteristics that compose the groups, besides the obligation of having more than 18 years old to be part of any group. For the evaluation of mood was used the Brunel Mood Scale (BRUNEL) which use factors such as stress, depression, vigor, anger, fatigue, confusion and mood disorder. To evaluate anxiety was used Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). For assessing levels of physical activity was used International Physical Activity Questionnaire short version (IPAQ-short). Results: It was found by BRUNEL, that factors as anger had a significant difference between the groups (p <0.05) and the confusion factor showed a slight trend between groups (p <0.10). The BAI showed no significant difference between the groups (p = 0.65). The IPAQ-short showed no difference of physical activity levels between the groups. The ASSIST showed a significant difference of alcohol abuse and dependent / abuse of smoking among groups (p = 0.00001), which is a factor for inclusion in the survey. ASSIST also showed that use of weed as an illicit drug in CONC group had a strong prevalence (p = 0.00001), as well as characteristics of abusive usage of weed by this population. Conclusion: The study supports the hypothesis that abusive use of alcohol and smoking can bring changes in mood. The study raises as hypothesis the beneficial effect of physical activity for a user population of alcohol and smoking, because many variables evaluated were not statistically significant between groups, and the levels of physical activity were similar between groups. It is considered as a limiting factor reduced sample (n = 38), doing so many of the variables do not give significance when the groups were compared statistically
