Mesmo com o aumento progressivo da participação feminina no mercado de trabalho no
Brasil nos últimos anos, as mulheres ainda enfrentam grandes dificuldades de ascensão dentro
das empresas, permanecendo com remunerações inferiores aos rendimentos dos homens.
Além disso, continuam tendo suas vozes desrespeitadas do ambiente de trabalho, assim como,
a questão da maternidade, ainda é vista como fator incapacitante para o desenvolvimento das
atividades do dia a dia, e da carreira profissional de mulheres. Isto se deve à questões de
gênero, num ambiente de trabalho com características predominantemente masculinas. Entre
muitas causas apresentadas pela literatura para esses problemas, esta pesquisa se dispôs a
observar a falta de representação feminina em cargos de liderança nas organizações. O
objetivo foi investigar como as características socioculturais dos indivíduos afetam a chance
de crescimento profissional das mulheres no mercado de trabalho. Trata-se de um estudo de
caso com pesquisa qualitativa que partiu da aplicação de questionário junto as mulheres
funcionárias da empresa Goodyear do Brasil, esta aplicação possibilitou analisar as
dificuldades que as mulheres ainda enfrentam no ambiente de trabalho, tais como: falta de
representatividade em cargos de liderança, discrepância salarial, discriminação por gênero,
além de enfrentarem uma dupla jornada de trabalho. E por fim, o investimento na formação
feminina como forma de compensar dificuldades na carreira e concluímos pela necessidade da
política de diversidade em empresas como forma de corrigir desequilíbrio de gênero.
Even with the progressive increase of female participation in the labor market in Brazil in recent years, women still face great difficulties of rising within companies, remaining with remuneration below men's income. In addition, they continue to have their voices disrespected from the workplace, as well as the issue of motherhood is still seen as a disabling factor for the development of daily activities and women's professional career. This is due to gender issues in a work environment with predominantly male characteristics. Among the many causes presented by the literature for these problems, this research was prepared to observe the lack of female representation in leadership positions in organizations. The objective was to investigate how sociocultural characteristics of individuals affect women's chances of professional growth in the labor market. This is a case study with qualitative research that started from the application of a questionnaire to women employees of the Goodyear do Brasil company. This application made it possible to analyze the difficulties that women still face in the workplace, such as: lack of representation in leadership positions, wage discrepancy, gender discrimination, as well as facing a double workday. And finally, the investment in female education as a way to compensate for career difficulties and we conclude by the need for diversity policy in companies as a way to correct gender imbalance.
