This Undergraduate Conclusion Paper was developed in the second semester of 2023 in the Bachelor of Science in Education program with a focus on Mathematics. It reports on the professional journey that led to the problematization of the importance of Financial Education, especially for students in the Middle School level. The research is grounded in the principles of Critical Mathematical Education and aims to find ways to teach Financial Education through problem-solving situations so that students become active participants in the teaching and learning process. The theoretical and methodological framework of the research is based on the principle that Financial Education goes beyond teaching financial concepts and involves students in a deep reflection on the social and economic implications of financial decisions. Furthermore, the importance of Financial Education in the context of public policies in Brazil is discussed, as well as the role of the National Strategy for Financial Education (ENEF) in promoting financial and retirement education for the population. Another aspect addressed in the research is the relationship between Financial Education and inflation, highlighting the importance of understanding the impact of inflation on consumers' purchasing power. The need to include the concept of inflation in Financial Education teaching is addressed, especially considering the Brazilian economic context. Moreover, the research analyzes the presence of Financial Education in official documents in order to contextualize the history of Financial Education and its evolution in educational curricula. Finally, a didactic sequence for Lower Secondary Education is proposed, which includes the development of concepts related to inflation, savings, financial investments, resource management, and conscious consumption, through problem-solving situations.
