The present work sought to analyze public education policies for youths and adults, and from this analysis carried out an activity through the experiment of mathematical games in order to increase the participation of young people and adults in the construction of activities carried out in space. For that, the analysis took place via the articulation of UNIFESP with the penitentiary José Parada Neto for 40 "reeducingos" participants in basic education - EJA. In this way, it was verified that the public education policy for young people and adults faces some challenges, which involve institutionalization, specific budget and the forms available for participation of the target public. With regard to the specific public policy it is noticed that the young and adults are disconnected from the contents presented in the classroom, besides, the lack of budgetary and formative incentive for the professionals. In public schools, the indices referring to school dropout from this public each day are higher, so little atmosphere stimulates, effectively, the participation of young people and adults. Through the application of mathematical games in the educational environment, it was found that this methodology stimulated young people and adults to show greater interest in educational activities.
