Interpretação do sentido realista na construção das personagens femininas no romance O primo Basílio

Resumo
A pesquisa tem como proposta refletir sobre a representação da mulher do século XIX na obra O Primo Basílio, do escritor português Eça de Queirós (1845-1900), a partir da interpretação do conceito de realismo operado pelo autor no livro e proposto por ele em textos de jornais. Analisa-se de que modo o romance dialoga com as questões teóricas de seu tempo e como sua escrita produz um desejado “efeito de real”. A partir da análise da constituição da personagem Luísa, observa-se a representação da mulher em consonância com o tempo e a sociedade da época, bem como os espaços físico e social a elas destinados na sociedade burguesa da segunda metade do século XIX, em Portugal. Investiga-se a construção da personagem por meio de seus comportamentos envolvendo a natureza de seus atos e falas e as consequências dessas ações no decurso da trama romanesca.
The purpose of this research is to reflect on the representation of women in the 19th century in the literary work, O primo Basílio, by the portuguese writer Eça de Queiroz (1845–1900), based on the interpretation of the concept of realism accomplished by the author in the book and proposed by him in newspaper texts. The research analyzes how the novel dialogues with the theoretical issues of its time and how its writing produces the desired “real effect”. Analysing the constitution of the Character Luísa, the representation of women in line with the time and Society of the time is observed, as well as the physical and social Spaces destined to them in the bourgeois Society of the second half of the 19th century, in Portugal. The construction of the Character is investigated through their behaviors involving the nature of their acts and speeches and the consequences of these actions in the course of the novel’s plot.
