The present study is the result of a Master's degree research whose general objective was to identify the social conditions experienced by women in the context of drug abuse, involving the analysis of their statements from a critical perspective. Furthermore, we sought to investigate different expressions of social issues experienced by women welcomed into the chosen Therapeutic Community, map the conditions for drug use, compare the pattern of use between two generations and describe the damage to women's social life. In total, there were 8 women participants, with analyzes based on Bardin (1977), from an intersectional perspective based on Crenshaw (2002). This research also proposed to carry out an intergenerational analysis, interviewing women younger (18 – 40) and older women (40+), with a view to discussing the intersections between different age groups and patterns of use of drugs. From the analysis of the interviews, it was evident that women who abuse drugs have a history of violence, machismo, racism and difficulty in dealing with grief, with analyzes of their speeches being carried out based on these experiences, from a critical perspective. and emancipatory. From the results obtained, it is evident the need to adopt public policies that consider both racism and gender nuances in the treatment and prevention of drug abuse, since current drug policy does not cover these issues as well. important.
