Futsal, one of the most played sports in Brazil, it is a sport of high intensity with a high game velocity that requires from the athletes a good physical state with a good restore, so they could have fast decisions, attention during the entire match and an extremely fast time reaction. Therefore, many coaches seek good ways to restore their athletes. One is sleep, which is seen as the best way of recovering, since it exerts important functions in the recovering of the organism, for example, recover waste energy. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate if has a relation between the sleep pattern of futsal athletes and their performance during a competitive match. The study included 26 futsal players, male, federated by the state of São Paulo, aged between 13 and 17 years. Volunteers answered a battery of psychobiological questionnaire that evaluated the sleep pattern including complaints from a sleep questionnaire, sleep complaints, excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep diary and chronotype. Separated by category, the athletes played an official game from Federação Paulista de Futsal, in which was held assembling a scout of each athlete during the match. Data was statistically analysed and correlated, and revealed that 76,92% of the sample fell sleepy during the day, and 23,08% have much changed sleep. However, 84,62% have a good sleep quality. Furthermore, only one athlete had zero performance, five were removed from sample, and 20 athletes had good performance. Thus, the study found that, as with respect to this study, sleep did not influence the performance of futsal athletes, what may have occurred because some parameters were not evaluated.
