The Design Activist movement is a collective that brings together designers and digital artists from all over Brazil and emerged as a sociopolitical reaction of those who "can't take it anymore" the situation in Brazil in 2018, the year of the presidential election and a great advance of fake news in the country. The ideological movement emerged as a way to use the graphic and digital product knowledge of designers across the country to raise political awareness among consumers of social networks, more precisely, Instagram. This text is based on bibliographic research for a historical and artistic look at the use of design as a social and political tool towards the Design Activist movement in Brazil. It aims to bring out the importance of the social role of the designer, his political influence and the use of design as a form of social impact against the grain of the search for profits within the world business and capitalist system, as it was commonly understood. With the high circulation of images in the current world recurrent in social networks, I intend to discuss the impact of these images, produced and shared by the movement, as a society and as individuals. This work also contemplates the use of design methodologies and knowledge included the context and view of the art history, inserting design and digital production and posters of an ideological nature in the theoretical-methodological scope of the history of contemporary art, also starting from the historiography about the use of design in times of cultural, political and social wars.
