Resumo
Esta pesquisa apresenta um panorama de Janelas verdes (1970), de Murilo Mendes, livro
ancorado na sua experiência de viajar por Portugal. A obra, mobilizada por um gesto que quer
apreender, reunir e fixar a dispersão dos dados que a memória – pessoal e coletiva – evoca,
organiza-se por meio da fragmentação e da justaposição de perspectivas díspares. Como ponto
de partida, elege-se a percepção de que essa mobilidade e descontinuidade, em decorrência dos
reiterados cortes, resultam em um texto híbrido, tanto do ponto de vista dos assuntos quanto da
própria linguagem. As imagens evocadas no texto, extraídas da cultura portuguesa, da vivência
pessoal e da imaginação, são ressignificadas pelo olhar do viajante e apontam para um inventivo
trabalho de memória. Ao ler Janelas verdes, acessamos a contemporaneidade do poeta
prosador que, usando como leitmotiv a viagem por Portugal, inaugura outros deslocamentos na
escrita. Ancorado nesta ideia de movimento, o texto de Murilo Mendes confere sentido
ensaístico às imagens do passado, que são atualizadas e dispostas sob novas relações mediadas
pelo presente da escrita.
This research presents an overview of Janelas verdes (1970), by Murilo Mendes, the book anchored in his experience of traveling in Portugal. The work, mobilized by a gesture of apprehend, gather and fix the dispersion of information brought by both personal memory and collective memory, uses the fragmentation and the juxtaposition of very diverse perspectives. As starting point, it is elected the perception that this mobility and this discontinuity, due to repeated cuts, results in a hybrid text, both from the point of view of the subjects as well as language itself. Extracted from the Portuguese culture, the images evoked in the text – images lived or imagined – are re-signified by the traveler’s view, and point to an inventive work of memory. When reading Janelas verdes, we access poet and prosador contemporariness who, using as leitmotiv a journey through Portugal, inaugurates another in his writing. In this connection with the idea of movement, Murilo Mendes’ text grants ensaistic sense to the images of the past, which are updated and disposed under new relations mediated by the present of the writing.
