Abstract

In This Work We Present The Construction Of The Set Of Real Numbers. This Subject Is Of Great Importance Since It Is The Basis For The Understanding Of Essential Mathematical Concepts Such As Limits, Continuity And Integrals. Although Such Construction Can Be Made In Different Ways, We Choose The Cauchy Sequences. We Present A Rigorous Construction, Focused On Teacher Training. However, Along With The Difficulties Related To The Teaching Of This Topic, We Also Present A Geometric Approach, Which We Believe Is More Accessible To Students At The Entry Level.

Neste Trabalho Abordamos A Construção Do Conjunto Dos Números Reais. Este Assunto Possui Grande Importância Pois É Base Para A Compreensão De Conceitos Essenciais À Matemática Tais Como Limite, Continuidade E Integrais. Apesar De Tal Construção Poder Ser Realizada De Diferentes Formas, Optamos Pelas Sequências De Cauchy. Apresentamos Uma Construção Rigorosa, Voltada Para A Formação Do Professor. Contudo, A Par Das Dificuldades Relativas Ao Ensino Deste Tópico, Também Apresentamos Uma Abordagem De Caráter Geométrico, Que Acreditamos Ser Mais Acessível Aos Estudantes De Nível Básico.
