This process is currently performed visually by trained specialists who use a light cabinet to ensure that samples are evaluated under controlled light and color conditions so that illumination of the outdoor environment does not compromise the analysis. The objective of this research is to provide a higher level of innovation in the color assessment process by developing a functional light cabin prototype using 3D modeling and additive manufacturing technologies and also a minimums requirements guide (guidelines) for building software and / or color assessment applications in the industry. The result was the construction of the functional prototype of the light booth that met the need for research, elaboration of a systematic review and a technical evaluation of functionality with eight free applications for mobile devices for color evaluation. Interviews were conducted with 15 interviews with specialists trained to identify the particularities of the development of a software and / or application directed to the consumer goods industry area and a guideline was developed for the construction of color assessment software for the industry.
