- ItemSomente MetadadadosAvaliação da proteína c-reativa como fator prognóstico do diabetes mellitus gestacional(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2014-05-22) Aranha, Gerson [UNIFESP]; Chagas, Jair Ribeiro Chagas [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)The Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is defined as any degree of glucose intolerance with onset or first recognition during pregnancy. Affecting 4-14 % of all pregnant women are estimated. Currently this tracking is done by measurement of fasting glucose in the first trimester of pregnancy and the glucose tolerance in the second trimester of pregnancy test. Besides the fact that insulin resistance is characterized by the interaction of genetic determinants, nutritional and lifestyle factors, it is recognized that inflammatory mechanisms are involved in the regulation of insulin action. While mounting evidence that C- reactive protein (CRP) correlated with states of insulin, suggesting that CRP may be a predictor of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Elevated concentrations of asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) were found in gestational diabetes (GDM). Being an inflammatory marker believed that other inflammatory markers, like CRP, are elevated in pregnant women with glucose intolerance. Our goal was to find another parameter that can more reliably track the GDM in the first trimester of pregnancy, PCR. The study was conducted at the outpatient prenatal health service in São Vicente, with a total of 200 patients at screening of GDM. The patients were evaluated according to the criteria of the American Diabetes Association and compared with CRP quantification. In our study we could not establish a strong relationship between DMG and PCR , PCR can therefore not be considered a good predictor of GDM.
