The current scenario in educational contexts has made linguists and teaching professionals raise many questions on how it relates to the hearing impaired?s mother tongue. This teaching-learning process should take LIBRAS linguistic singularity into account and use it as the main means to guide its users into learning and acquiring written Portuguese. A program on reflective practices that foster the learning and improvement of both L1 and L2 is, therefore, the duty of the school and its professionals, as these practices may generate linguistic processes present in written language grammar. The key question then is how to promote the construction of meaning in this L2 among learners whose first language is visual kinesthetic. The reflection on that matter will take Enunciation Linguistics and, especially, the Theory of Enunciative Operations as reference background. Our objective is therefore to contribute to the discussion on teaching and learning of tense and aspect structures, focusing on the Portuguese Simple Past equivalent, identifying ways to generate new pedagogical practices that ensure more meaningful learning experiences which meet education professionals? expectations for the development of reading and writing utterances with this verb structure.
