- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Adaptação transcultural do Preterm Parenting & Self-efficacy Checklist para a língua portuguesa brasileira(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2018-05-24) Mendes, Carolina Queiroz de Souza [UNIFESP]; Balieiro, Maria Magda Ferreira Gomes [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9173690204516872; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1362520663560832; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Objectives: To perform the crosscultural adaptation to the Brazilian Portuguese language of a measure of the selfefficacy of parents of preterm newborns after hospital discharge, Preterm Parenting & SelfEfficacy Checklist. Methods: A Methodological study of crosscultural adaptation following the steps of: initial translation, synthesis of translations, backtranslation, review by a committee of experts, pretest / testretest, psychometric analysis after application of instrument adapted for 51 parent’s newborn preterm infants, developed from June 2016 to November 2017. Results: The largest number of participants was mothers (64.7%); the mean age of the parents was 33.37 years; the mother was the main caregiver (82.4%), followed by the father (58.8%) and family (47.1%); the main orientation received on discharge was on hygiene (100%); and the guidelines for discharge to the parents were given by the doctor (92.2%), followed by the nurse (90.2%) and the nursing team (90.2%). The main diagnoses of premature newborns were related to maternal risk factors and respiratory system injuries (89.7% in both). The evaluation by the committee of experts obtained acceptable agreement and content validity of 97% and 0.97, respectively. In the semantic validation, there were no changes. In the testretest step, satisfactory stability indices were obtained. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was 0.84 in the instrument. Factorial analysis found four factors per subscale of the instrument that explained from 67.0% to 74.2% of the variance. The results of the clinical application made it possible to identify that the parental perception was statistically significant related to the maternal figure, in the activities of diaper change of the premature infant; the importance of understanding the signs presented by the child; to deal with agitation and crying; and to feel successful in the task of performing the bath. Conclusion: The instrument adapted to the Brazilian culture has the potential to be implemented in the nursing practice in outpatient unit programs of followup of the RN of risk and for the nurse Family Health Strategy as a measure of the evaluation of the preparation of the parents for the discharge of the premature of the neonatal unit. It is recommended to use the Preterm Parenting & SelfEfficacy Checklist Brazilian Version in future research, with the extension of the sample, and evaluation of the psychometric properties in other populations.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosAtitudes dos enfermeiros em relação às famílias de recém-nascidos hospitalizados em unidades neonatais da rede municipal de saúde de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2019-07-25) Boyamian, Thais Morengue Di Lello [UNIFESP]; Balieiro, Maria Magda Ferreira Gomes [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Introduction: The quality of the assistance for the newborn admitted to the neonatal unit is both linked to the right number of professional and the interpersonal relationships, behaviors and attitudes towards families. Nurses who have supportive attitudes can contribute to building up the confidence and awareness for the parents in the process of caring for the newborn. It was questioned: What are the attitudes of nurses in neonatal units, at the presence of families? Objective: To analyze the nurses’ attitudes to the families of the newborns hospitalized in neonatal units. Method: A survey was carried out with 145 nurses from 10 hospitals from the municipal public health system of São Paulo city. In the collection of data, the scale "The importance of families in nursing care - Nurses' attitudes (IFNC-NA)", questionnaires of characterization of the hospital’s routines and structure, the sociodemographic profile of the participants and a structured interview. Results: Most of the study participants were female, 139 (95.8%); with an age average of 43.7 (± 9.4) years; time of professional training greater than five years and time of care in neonatology less than five years. Less than half of the nurses (45.5%) have specialization in the pediatric and neonatal area. The internal consistency of the attitudes’ scale was 0.87. The total score average of the nurses' attitudes was 77.7. In dimension 1. "Family: dialogue partner and coping resource" the average was 35.3; in dimension 2 "Family: nursing care resource" the average was 30.9; and in dimension 3 "Family: Burden" the average was 8.5. Conclusion: The nurses have demonstrated supportive attitudes toward families, and they did not consider as a burden. The need to identify nurses' attitudes with other methods was evidenced. Educational interventions should contribute to improving the professional's understanding, on the model of care focused on the patient and family, strengthening relationships and improving the assistance to the newborn and his family.
