Meningiomas are the most commonly occurring benign intracranial tumors, but an intraventricular location is rare. Inside the ventricles. the lateral one is the most common site for the tumor, almost always close to the atrium. Meningiomas occur less often in children, but a higher percentage are located intraventricularly. The authors review the literature on the management of intraventricular meningiomas and describe their own experience. Five cases of meningiomas within the lateral ventricles and one in the fourth ventricle are discussed, including two children tone of whom had tumors related to von Recklinghausen's disease).en
