This action involved the resettlement of about 900 families living on the banks of the Aricanduva River, under the pretext of removing them from an area with risks caused by floods. From participant action research that involved fieldwork, it was found that the process of removal, even extinguishing the damage of flooding, created other sources of risk, such as subsistence and permanence issues in the new housing complex. The conduct of the project did not involve the effective participation of the Tabor community in its formulation and implementation and, by not considering elements of the social reality of the territory and its residents, promoted ruptures and generated forms of wear and suffering.
