Resumo
O presente trabalho investiga os processos de têmpera e revenimento, com foco no controle de
qualidade durante o tratamento térmico de componentes metálicos. Inicialmente, são discutidos
os princípios fundamentais desses processos e seus impactos nas propriedades mecânicas e
estruturais dos materiais. Em seguida, foram realizadas observações e análises nos ambientes
práticos de tratamentos, atividade realizada nas instalações da empresa STEELTERM
TRATAMENTO TÉRMICO LTDA, localizada em São José dos Campos, com o objetivo de
entender os fatores envolvidos no tratamento térmico. Foi elaborada uma atividade prática de
têmpera e revenimento variando as temperaturas de austenitização, meio de resfriamento, e
tempo de revenimento em corpos de prova de aço SAE 1045, realizando ao fim das análises
observações e análises de dureza em escala Rockwell C. Por fim, foi possível perceber os
impactos de cada etapa dos processos, alinhando o que foi obtido às tendências atuais e os
desafios futuros no campo, enfatizando a necessidade de contínua pesquisa e desenvolvimento
para atender às exigências de materiais avançados e aplicações de engenharia.
The present study investigates the quenching and tempering processes, focusing on quality control during the heat treatment of metallic components. Initially, the fundamental principles of these processes and their impacts on the mechanical and structural properties of materials are discussed. Observations and analyses were then conducted in practical treatment environments, with activities carried out at the facilities of STEELTERM TRATAMENTO TÉRMICO LTDA, located in São José dos Campos, aiming to understand the factors involved in heat treatment. A practical activity was designed involving quenching and tempering, varying austenitization temperatures, cooling mediums, and tempering time on SAE 1045 steel test specimens. Afterward, hardness observations and analyses were performed using the Rockwell C scale. Lastly, the impacts of each stage of the processes were observed, aligning the results with current trends and future challenges in the field, emphasizing the need for continuous research and development to meet the demands of advanced materials and engineering applications.
