Este trabalho tem por objetivo a aplicação empírica do conceito de capital territorial à análise
do crescimento econômico regional brasileiro, ou seja, investigou-se a existência de relação
entre as várias dimensões do capital territorial (variáveis exógenas) e o PIB per capita dos
estados brasileiros (variável endógena). Foi utilizada a metodologia de Castelnovo et al (2020),
que analisaram empiricamente o impacto do capital territorial na produtividade das empresas
italianas, construindo indicadores para oito dimensões do capital territorial, a fim de capturar
uma grande variedade de recursos regionais que vão além dos tradicionalmente empregados
nesse tipo de análise. Foi observada significância estatística para as seguintes dimensões do
capital territorial: capital humano, tecnológico, financeiro, natural e artístico.
The objective of this work is to empirically appliy the concept of territorial capital to the analysis of brazilian regional economic growth, that is, we investigate the existence of relationship between various dimensions of territorial capital (exogenous variables) and the GDP per capita of brazilian states (endogenous variable). We used the methodology of Castelnovo et al (2020), who empirically analyzed the impact of territorial capital on the productivity of Italian companies, building indicators for eight dimensions of territorial capital, in order to capture a wide variety of regional resources that go beyond those traditionally employed in this type of analysis. It was observed statistical significance for the following dimensions of territorial capital: human, technological, financial, natural and artistic capital.
