Objective: To develop a surgical stapler for omphaloplasty model. Method: The Canvas Patent model was used for the development of this surgical instrument. A literature review and patent search related to the subject were performed. A questionnaire was sent to all SBCP members by email to determine the technical preferences of the omphaloplasty. A description has been made that contains features and functions of the surgical stapler, associated with drawings, figures and a prototype to identify and illustrate each part of the product. Results: 575 plastic surgeons answered the questionnaire. A three-piece stapling system has been developed which, after correct alignment, is capable of firing eight surgical staples simultaneously, in order to attach the navel skin to the abdominal flap. Related patents in the search for priority were described and compared with the study model, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages. The developed model provides expectation to facilitate omphaloplasty, reduce surgical time and standardize results. This stapling system was not found in the literature searched. Conclusion: A surgical stapler for omphaloplasty model was developed and submitted for patent registration
