- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Do protesto às urnas : o movimento homossexual brasileiro na transição política (1978-1982)(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2015-12-14) Cruz, Rodrigo Rodrigues da [UNIFESP]; Maciel, Debora Alves [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)The analytical problem of this dissertation is the interaction between social movements and institutional politics. The research reconstructs the mobilization process of the Brazilian homosexual movement, focusing on the set of strategies adopted from 1978 to 1982: from street protest to the partisan and electoral engagement. The argument is that the homosexual movement, at the end of the protest cycle for democratization, did not go into decline, as much of the literature played. Activists remained mobilized in the partisan arena, especially during the elections of 1982, when they engaged in campaigns with strong countercultural accent. The hypothesis is that the traffic towards the institutional policy was favored, on the one hand, by the political opportunities offered by the Brazilian transition: Party Reform of 1979, the renewal of the Left, the foundation of the Workers Party (PT), the elections of 1982; and, on the other hand, by the circulation of brokers both in transnational networks and between the social movements and parties. The work analyzes, in the end, how the experience of partisan and electoral engagement favored the adoption, by the movement, of more institutionalized frames and repertoires of collective action.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)A teoria do realinhamento eleitoral no Brasil: apropriações e hipóteses(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2016-09-16) Lage, Daniel [UNIFESP]; Rocha, Antonio Sergio Carvalho [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)This work focuses on the theory of electoral realignment comprehending it as powerful lens for analysis of democratic processes in the long term. The present work starts with a study of the origins and development of such theory in the United States, followed by the analysis of its use in Brazil, reviewing and mapping the adaptation demands of the theory to the brazilian reality. Instead of the idea of an electoral realignment in the 2006 presidential election, it is hypothesized an electoral alignment as a important consolidation moment of the relation between party and social base in the young brazilian democracy - wich should be conserdered before the possibility of realignment itself. Therefrom, this study try to find a long-term interpretive scheme for the period 2002 to 2014. The notion of strategic interaction between the voter's choice and the choice of the parties in elections take place in the center of the analytical model. Thus, the hypothesis of alignment sum up with the class reconciliation experience held in PT governments, characterizing a particular experience of social democracy.
