Heart models that provide realistic visualization of the heart are concerned with physiological heart movements observed in medical exam images, such as echocardiograms. As applying the cardiac surface, mainly of the left ventricle is relevant for the understanding of cardiac movements, the objective of the present work was to determine, from echocardiographic images, the displacement of the internal and external walls of the human left ventricle, to provide physiological animation data of the heartbeat in a virtual 3D model of the left ventricle. The results show that the displacement's selected values satisfactorily express the cardiac ultrasound images' real movement. It also reveals the assertiveness in determining the reference points and the study points' extrapolation for the other ventricular chamber regions. The approach used is a pioneer in providing physiological data on the displacement of the left ventricular walls in centimeters for 3D animation of the ventricular chamber, which, as expressed in the results, can be used to increase the degree of fidelity of the simulation concerning the movement or even reproducing it. Thus, the determination of the left ventricular wall's movement and its implementation in an animation of the 3D virtual model complies with the echocardiogram images. That is a useful technique for future implementation in the other cardiac chambers and teaching tools and (or) cardiac learning.
