- ItemSomente MetadadadosThe consequences of small-scale variations in habitat conditions driven by a floating marina on reef fish assemblages of SE Brazil(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2017) Pastro, Gabriela; Dias, Gustavo Muniz; Pereira-Filho, Guilherme Henrique [UNIFESP]; Gibran, Fernando ZanioloMarine constructions modify physical conditions by interfering with water circulation and increasing sedimentation and pollution, leading to biological homogenization. However, they also increase the availability of hard substrata for larval recruitment, resulting in the development of a diverse sessile community and associated fish fauna. To describe how the modifications caused by a floating marina affect reef fish assemblages at Sdo Sebastiao Channel, SW Atlantic, a multiparameter probe and a visual census methodology were used to compare the abiotic conditions and the diversity and abundance of fishes between two areas: the area inside the marina where boats are moored and the breakwater, an area more similar to nearby natural rocky shores. The area inside the marina presented more turbid and productive waters, while the breakwater was more turbulent. The abundance of fishes inside the marina was greater than at the breakwater throughout the study, but species richness was higher inside the marina only during the hot and wet period (Austral Summer and Spring). Fish assemblages were strictly different, between areas. Species dominance for each area and at nearby natural rocky reefs was also different. This study shows that artificial habitat causes micro-spatial modifications to local fish assemblages. As spatial variations were related to the behavioural and ecological aspects of fishes, marine facilities should be carefully planned, and engineering principles should be combined with ecological processes to better resemble natural habitats, thereby reducing environmental impacts. - ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Estado, políticas públicas e cultura: a programação cultural e a dinâmica territorial do Centro Cultural da Juventude (CCJ) e do Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP)(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2015-09-24) Pires, Daniel Brochado [UNIFESP]; Dias, Marcia Regina Tosta [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)We have carried out in this work an analysis of the process of the participation of the regulars users in cultural programming from two cultural centers at São Paulo city - Youth Cultural Center and Sao Paulo Cultural Center. As research has a cutout on the territoriality in which these spaces are inserted, we had an investigative plan, the spatial arrangement background of cultural facilities in São Paulo and public policy culture that influenced the deconcentration of cultural events of the city.First we examine the urban context in which we list the main existing attributes in capitalist reproduction mode of space in São Paulo. In this context, we begin to conceptualize what we consider a cultural practice in the current urban space. To undertake a vision of cultural political spectrum in this dynamic development of space, we list the main cultural policies of the city of São Paulo that had as a plan the decentralization of equipment and cultural of the city practices, most notably detached Mario de Andrade and Marilena Chaui's political actions. From these analyzes, we conducted a mapping on how to have the most different cultural facilities in the urban environment,in order to compare with other indicators, such as level of education and income. Field survey results pointed nuances and highlighted similarities in management and public, between the two cultural centers. The variations are converged, especially in the role of public goer participation, in which the CCJ was demonstrated with more initiatives and administrative routines accordingly. Such a feat also took us to see that this equipment is more permissive to reflections and dynamics of territoriality because it is located in a peripheral region that demands greater degree of diffusion of its expressions.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Políticas públicas: pontos de método e experiências(Instituto de Estudos Avançados da Universidade de São Paulo, 2006-04-01) Sawaya, Ana Lydia [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP); Centro de Recuperação e Educação NutricionalTHE SUCCESS of public policies depends on several factors, including the overriding need to understand reality in order to define the content and management of programs for the common good. When knowledge is grounded on actual reality, that is, on the circumstances people must face on a daily basis, and attention is focused on the individual and his or her life experiences, efficiency is greatly enhanced and a new form of intervention becomes possible - one that values positive aspects and the attempts to fulfill the needs already established by individuals and their community. Therefore, strengthening such attempts may constitute an important and innovative decision in the public programs environment.
