    Avaliação das funções auditivas de tronco encefálico em mulheres com migrânea vestibular

    Aim: Assess auditory brainstem functions in patients with vestibular migraine (VM) using electrophysiological exams, contralateral acoustic reflex (AR) and loudness discomfort level (LDL). Methods: The study group (SG) consisted of 29 women with vestibular migraine and the control group (CG) by 25 healthy women. Auditory brainstem response (ABR), frequency following response (FFR), binaural interaction component (BIC) and assessment of contralateral efferent suppression were performed. The threshold of discomfort (LDL) and the contralateral acoustic reflex were also investigated. The results were compared between groups. Results: There was a statistically significant difference between the groups for FFR and LDL. Conclusions: Patients with VM present alterations in the brainstem auditory functions and a mild hyperacusis in the intercrises period.
