It is characterized by progressive muscle weakness, joint retractions, loss of ambulation, and early death. Standard physical therapy does not address the concomitant connective tissue impairment along disease progression. Dynamic Spatial Stimulation (DSS) of Fascia aims to promote, maintain and/ or recover 'fascial readiness' for proportional redistribution of stresses and body space. Objective: Verify the effects of Dynamic Spatial Stimulation (DSS) of Fascia on range of motion (ROM), dynamic balance, grip strength, and health-related quality of life (HRQL) in patients with DMD. Method: 10 patients, male, 7 to 12 years (mean 9,19 SD 1,88) received ten 60-minute sessions, being one per week along 10 weeks. Assessment was performed pre- (t0) and postintervention (t1), including: ROM by using a gravitational flexi-meter; Dynamic balance by the North Star Ambulatory Assessment (NSAA), 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT), and the Functional Evaluation Scale (FES): Gait Domain; Handgrip strength by using a squeeze dynamometer; and HRQL by the Patient and Caregiver Kidscreen-52-version Questionnaire, and mothers? reports. Results: From the total, 70.96% ROM variations came closer to the normal range; simultaneously there were increases (45.16%), maintenance (4.84%), and decreases (50%), in different joints; NSAA showed average increase on the overall score (16.90/ 34 to 17.70/ 34), decrease on the time to 'run 10-meters' (9.70 to 9.60-s), and increase on the Gowers? signal (17.86 to 20.29-s). The 6MWT showed average increase at the distance (253 to 265-meters), cadence (614.3 to 627.8-steps), and step length (41.2 to 42-cm). FES-Gait Domain showed functional gain in 11 items (36.66%) statistically significant at the hip joint and the support base, and maintenance in 15 (50%) items. Handgrip strength increased at the first squeeze: right hand (30%) and left hand (23%), and reduced on the later ones; left hand was stronger. ?Patient Kidscreen-52-version? showed 53.86% improvement, encompassing 'health and physical activity, moods and emotion, self-perception, school environment and bullying', being 'autonomy' maintained; the ?Caregiver Kidscreen-52-version? showed 71.15% improvement, encompassing 'health and physical activity, moods and emotion, (statistically significant), self-perception, financial aspect, and school environment', while keeping 'feelings'. Mothers? reports highlighted the treatment acceptance, pain and falls reduction, improved sleep quality, mood to play, and relational behavior. Discussion: The younger participants have achieved higher improvements. Conclusion: Dynamic Spatial Stimulation of fascia enabled both recover and maintain functionalities, as well as aspects of health-related quality of life in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy specially the younger ones, presenting a multi-dimensional potentiality for the field of physical therapy management of the disease.
