The study is descriptive and exploratory, with quantitative and qualitative results. Method: Data collection was done in three stages. In the first, data were collected from the electronic medical record of the Human Resources Division. As inclusion criterion, in this stage, data regarding time of public service, gender and age of the civil servants who had taken, or not, the PME in the period from 01/05/2014 to 30/04/2015, were collected. The study did not include those who were admitted in the Institution in the period of the research, or those who were on health leave for more than 15 and/or more than 90 days. The data were statistically analyzed. In the second stage, individual semi-structured interviews were done. They were based on a script with sixty-minute each, in wich participants were encouraged to discuss PME and its importance for health. There were two lists of participants in this stage: those who did not take the PME (list 1) and those who took it (list 2); the choice of subjects - three teachers, and three Educacional, Administrative Technician - EATs from each list - occurred through random drawing. The interviews were recorded and transcribed for content analysis. In the third stage, individual semi-structured interviews were conducted with the professionals who were supporting the campus PMEs. Results: Stage 1 resulted in a selection of 230 civil servants, comprising 59.60% teachers and 40.40% EATS; age group was between 34 and 43 years old, being predominant the female gender (67.80%) and stricto sensu schooling (68.3%). Of the participants, only 41 completed the proceedings, which was performed by the TAEs category, male gender, lato sensu schooling, and those working in the Institution between one and three years. Result of stage two analysis showed that servers in list 1 didn’t take the PME in the institution because they don’t think the service brings benefits for their health, and the lack of care of the Institution about the civil servant health, etc. Most of participants of list 2 also took the PME outside the Institution, by medical insurance, but also are civil servants who only use the service as an accompaniment to their health. Stage 3 showed that the team also didn’t take the PME, and they don’t feel as an integrated part in the care actions viewing the health of civil servants. Conclusion: PME related communication needs to ameliorate; civil servants expect more from the Institution than just the accomplishment of PME, regarding health actions; and there’s a need to improve campus team integration with worker health sectors the institution.
