    Dispositivo para coleta de fluido gengival

    Introduction: The analysis of gingival fluid can be used to determine specific markers of systemic diseases, its relation to periodontal disease, making the dental surgeon a health agent, concerned not only with oral problems, but also with systemic pathologies, acting in the prevention. A reliable and accessible device for this analysis is necessary. Objective: Develop and submit for patent registration a device for collection of gingival fluid. Methods: An antecedent search was carried out, which included documents that corresponded in part or in full with the subject of interest and had, as source, international databases (Espacenet, USPTO, WIPO, SIPO and JPO) and the bank of the INPI, as well as the PatBase software. It was verified the existence of 5 documents that were classified and evaluated as to their relevance, low, medium or high, according to criteria defined by the Nucleus of Technological Invention of the Federal University of São Paulo (NIT-UNIFESP). Result: A design and prototype of a gingival fluid collection device was developed and the application of the patent was submitted to NIT-UNIFESP. Conclusion: Based on the clinical needs and devices already developed, was sent for the patent registration a new device for collecting gingival fluid.
