To do this, Augustine emphasizes the doctrine of God’s grace. In this work, it´s important to analyze the development of this dispute, and the methods used by Augustine to assert the doctrine of Pelagius as heretical. Issues of power or merely of faith? If it is a question of power, how was it given? If it is a matter of Faith, what was the context of the emergence of these heresies? This research is justified by the fact that Christianity was built on doctrinal tensions, among which the doctrine of Grace was evidence in the 5th century. Thus, it is relevant that Augustine has given continuity to his reflections on Grace during the decade of 410, in the light of Pelagius´ doctrine.
