    Pacaembu: construção e apropriação do espaço (1933-1963)

    “Pacaembu: construction and space appropriation (1933-1963)”, studies the trajectory that culminated with the construction of the Pacaembu Municipal Stadium and the subsequent use of its space on the Pan American Games in 1963. A few elements were fundamental to the accomplishment of this work, from the number of urban transformations that have occurred in São Paulo during the final of the XIX century, that attracted investors, among them, the Cia City, one of the responsible for the outbreak of Pacaembu; the spread of the sporting culture in the city, having the soccer a prominence, and the political interests, mainly represented in the period of “Estado Novo”. In short, the monograph highlights that this construction has influenced the relationships and the neighborhood dynamic, producing a series of speeches that led to the arising of textual, iconographic and oral documents.
