    O corpo neobarroco em De lama lâmina, de Matthew Barney

    This thesis is an analysis of how the artist Matthew Barney articulates the body within his work. The focus of the research is the artwork From Mud a Blade (2004 - 2009), accessed through the meanings and interpreted concepts of previous work of the artist himself and by aspects of the neo-baroque, targeting a baroque reading not as historicized category in art history, but as a transhistorical cultural paradigm, capable of causing effects of instability and mutation in the forms. From the concepts developed by Walter Moser, main theorist who writes about the current neo-baroque, the work of Matthew Barney, and interpreted, illustrates aspects that allow to approach the notion of body in all of his work on this perspective.
