Due to the lack of information, a book was created for these professionals, dealing with legal content about their daily professional life. Objective: Elaborate a book on legal responsibility of the plastic surgeon. Method: The book was developed based on the Design Thinking method, in four stages: discovering / empathizing, defining, developing / prototyping and delivering / testing. The first used the previous search in Google Books about books with content for plastic surgeons and bibliographic survey in the LILACS and Scielo database, using, in both cases, the descriptors "Civil responsibility", "Criminal Responsibility"; “Legal Liability” and “Medical Legislation”. The second stage applied a questionnaire to five plastic surgeons affiliated to SBCP, with more than ten years of experience and considered as a Full Member containing 25 objective questions on legal issues. The third included the tabulation of the results of the questionnaires that served to prepare the book. The last stage was the delivery of the book, with six chapters, which addresses the topics of civil liability of the plastic surgeon, criminal liability, the plastic surgeon as a defendant, administrative liability in CRM and administrative liability in SBCP. Conclusion: The book “Manual on Legal Responsibility for Plastic Surgeons” was elaborated.
