This period marked by political disputes this in different spaces in which political debate between different groups would not safeguarded in institutional settings such as the Parliament, and gain other spaces, such as the press, in a process that historian Marcello Basile called "politicization "of the streets. Thus, we will analyze what the specifics of building a conservative discourse in the 1830s and 1840s, especially considering the publications of two conservative newspapers: O Sete d'Abril (1833-1839), edited by Bernardo Pereira de Vasconcelos, and O Brasil (1840-1843), edited by Justiniano José da Rocha. Observe the joints made in editions of these newspapers, especially considering the action of its editors, to understand the political arrests in recent years for the construction of the National State. Furthermore, we analyze how the newspaper was a privileged "place" to discussions in other areas of the representative system, such as the parliament.
