- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Conhecimento e percepção dos profissionais a respeito do ruído na unidade neonatal(Universidade de São Paulo, Escola de Enfermagem, 2012-10-01) Daniele, Daniela; Pinheiro, Eliana Moreira [UNIFESP]; Kakehashi, Teresa Yoshiko [UNIFESP]; Balieiro, Maria Magda Ferreira Gomes [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)The objective of the study was to assess the knowledge and perception of professionals working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) regarding the repercussions of noise on the neonates, families and workers, prior to the implementation of an educational program. This qualitative descriptive study was conducted in a NICU of a São Paulo hospital with 101 professionals. A questionnaire was used for data collection, and chi-square and Student's t test were used to determine the association between variables. The workers described the NICU as very noisy (44.9%); they noticed the effects of noise during and after their work shift (67.4%) and used strategies to reduce noise. Despite not being familiar with legislation regarding noise in the hospital, the workers identify its repercussions on themselves, the neonates and families. Results indicate the need to teach the staff about legislation and noise prevention, as well as reorganize healthcare practices and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit facilities.
To develop and evaluate a training program on intrafamilial violence against children and adolescents for community health workers and nurses from the Family Health Program (FHP). Methods: The training program was applied to all FHP teams (n=7) from Embu city-São Paulo State and two FHP teams from Fortaleza city-Ceará State. Fifty-nine professionals (50 community health workers, eight nursing assistants and one nurse) were trained in Embu, and 37 professionals (30 community health workers and seven nurses) were trained in Fortaleza. Professionals were trained in groups (20 participants per group in average), being three groups from Embu and two from Fortaleza. The training program included 27 hours, divided in nine workshop sections (three-hour weekly meetings) conducted by a pair of trained instructors, based on the steps described in the training manual. The evaluation of knowledge acquisition and change in attitudes was based on case reports by participants obtained in three points in time (T0 - before training, T1 - one week after training, and T2 - three months after training). The evaluation followed three thematic axes: (1) case identification, (2) gathering of resources for notification, and (3) gathering of resources for the follow-up of families. Results: In total, 71 cases of intrafamilial violence against children and adolescents were reported by participants, but 22 of them did not report any cases. Resistance to report cases was observed among some professionals, and identification was restricted to severe cases. Regarding the ability of gathering resources for notification and follow-up of children/adolescents victims of intrafamilial violence, it was possible to identify three different professional profiles: (1) those who initially report cases with referral to the Tutorial Council, but were not intending to follow them up; (2) those who report cases without mentioning decisions taken and are inclined to notify, but do not seem inclined to follow the families up; (3) those who initially report cases without mentioning decisions taken and remain reluctant about the notification, but are inclined to follow-up cases they might identify in the future. Conclusion: Professionals that have better absorbed the content from the training program steps were those who spontaneously reported cases from their daily experience, revealing to be already sensitized and prepared to deal with the thematic of violence. Because each professional profile requires a different approach from the training program, it must be tailored to the needs of participants in order to be effective.

- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde de filhos de profissionais da área de saúde(Universidade de São Paulo, Escola de Enfermagem, 2012-12-01) Gamallo, Silvia Maria Moussi; Caparroz, Fábio de Azevedo [UNIFESP]; Terreri, Maria Teresa Ramos Ascensão [UNIFESP]; Hilário, Maria Odete Esteves [UNIFESP]; Len, Claudio Arnaldo [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)In this study, we measured the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and fatigue of the children of health professionals, aged between two and eleven years, and assessed the daytime and sleep habits of these children and their parents. The study included children from a public school. Data regarding demographics and daily habits were collected. The HRQOL, sleep habits and fatigue were measured using questionnaires. A total of 249 parents participated - 63.5% reported getting an adequate amount of sleep, while 47.4% woke up feeling tired. The children's mean age was 5.6 years - 62.2% watched television in their rooms, 50% used the computer (> 4 hours/day) and 27.8% engaged in extracurricular physical exercise. The sleep score was 45.8 ± 12.2. The HRQOL scores were higher in the physical and lower in the emotional aspects. We found that poorer sleep on the part of both children and parents may be related to the children's lower HRQOL. We conclude that the inadequate habits of parents as well as children, are related to a decrease in HRQOL, particularly regarding the emotional aspect.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosSaúde bucal e o cuidado da gestante: oficinas como estratégia de problematização de práticas na atenção básica nos morros de Santos(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2016-02-12) Nunes Neto, Ricardo Antonio [UNIFESP]; Frutuoso, Maria Fernanda Petroli [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4750299902344077; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9512745123662270; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Historically, oral health activities in Brazil took place in parallel and distanced form of organization of other health services, with a curative vision based only in assistance, which failed to respond to oral health needs of the population. Among the specific actions of Dentistry in primary health care, there is attention to the oral health of pregnant women, since the relationship between oral diseases, especially periodontal disease, and preterm and low birth weight is well documented in literature. This study aimed to problematize attention to oral health during prenatal care in facilities of primary health care in the area of the hills of Santos, São Paulo. The research had a qualitative approach and was carried out in three primary care facilities that have different forms of organization, namely: traditional basic unit of health, family health unit with oral health team and Family Health Unit without oral health team. For the production of data was used document analysis, field diary, semi-structured interviews applied to service managers and questioning workshops on attention to oral health with the teams that were studied. The transcribed material was analyzed using thematic analysis. All participants signed a free and informed consent. The unit managers report difficulties in understanding the work processes of the oral health team, and the difficulty of users in the service access is the problem with greater visibility for management. The teams try to organize dental agendas giving priority to pregnant women, but show difficulties in monitoring compliance, the use of protocols and the approach to oral health theme during the educational groups are used as strategies for improving adherence. Regardless of the organization of the basic attention unit, the teams attribute the search for care for pregnant women just in acute situations of pain, and fear of harm to the fetus caused by dental treatment as the main cause of treatment dropout. Some professionals had doubts about the use of local anesthetics by pregnant women. The appreciation of the monitoring of oral health during prenatal care was not unanimous among professionals and the strategy of permanent education in the Healthcare field applied to the services proved to be able to lead the teams to discuss their practice, creating opportunities reflection practices in the pursuit of integrality.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosSexuality after burn in Brazil: survey of burn health-care workers(Elsevier B.V., 2011-12-01) Piccolo, Monica Sarto [UNIFESP]; Daher, Ricardo Piccolo [UNIFESP]; Gragnani, Alfredo [UNIFESP]; Ferreira, Lydia Masako [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Patients who survive a major burn must live with emotional and physical sequela. in a literature review, we found that sexuality concerns of burn victims are rarely a focus of therapy. After suggestions from Rimmer et al. [12], using their questionnaire translated into Portuguese, we held a survey of burn-care professionals at the VII Brazilian Burn Congress.More than 120 practitioners from 41 centres, aged in average 41.2 years (1 standard deviation 10.96), completed the survey. A proportion of 63.7% were female, and 58.1% were Caucasians; 37.1% were physicians, 20.9% nurse practitioners and 16.9 were occupational therapists/physical therapists (OTs/PT)s. Psychologists made up 3.2%. Only 28% of the respondents felt comfortable in initiating a conversation about sexual intimacy with their patients. the vast majority believed it should be done by the psychologist. Only 38% felt their burn centre did an adequate job in that area. When compared with a study of our country's general population, we find similar results indicating that intimacy, sexuality and sexual intercourse are considered most important in a relationship. There is a significant lack of literature in sexuality after burn; most likely meaning it is ignored by most centres. There is a need for other similar surveys to be performed, as well as a collective consciousness of the need for discussions about sexuality with patients and their partners, providing counselling and treatment, when need.
