The story begins about 1 550 BC, with the exhibition of the famous Papyrus of Rhind and its contents, in which are worked some practical problems of the daily life, as its resolutions, passing later by Euclides of Alexandria and Archimedes of Syracuse, by the appearance of a new Geometry and finally the creation of the Integral Calculus. This journey through the History of Mathematics is carried out through a panorama from the 16th century BC to the 17th century AD. Finally, it presents a didactic approach for the simple comprehension of the formulas of the main areas of plane figures, by means of relations of several figures with the area of previously determined rectangle.
