Methods: We used the Modified Balance Error Scoring System to assess static balance, the Modified Star Excursion Balance Test for dynamic balance and Fleximetry for lower limb´s joint flexibility. Results: ANOVA and Bonferroni Multiple Comparison Test showed no significant differences in any of the variables analyzed for lower limb´s dominance and revealed that male students showed better one-leg static balance and greater dynamic balance in anterior reach than male teachers; female teachers had higher dynamic balance in anterior reach than male teachers, greater dynamic balance in posteromedial and posterolateral reaches, and higher dynamic´s balance final score than female students; females had greater flexibility for hip´s flexion with the knee in extension, abduction, extension, medial and lateral rotation, for ankle´s plantar flexion, inversion, dorsiflexion and plantar flexion in sitting position than males; male teachers had greater hip´s extension and ankle´s dorsiflexion in sitting position than male students; female teachers demonstrated greater hip adduction than male teachers and female students; male students showed greater hip adduction than male teachers and female students had greater ankle´s eversion than female teachers. Conclusion: After the comparisons between variables , statistically significant differences in relation to gender and length of practice in Capoeira´s practitioners were identified.
