The impact of this work, inaugurating a new chapter in Brazilian memorialism due to its innovative language in interweaving personal memories, documents, orality and historical facts. Such editorial success has earned awards and later on several reissues by various publishers. This research aims to analyze the reception in the academic field through the study of dissertations, theses and articles related to the published work. The question that is investigated is: “What is the influence of the different editions Baú de Ossos by Pedro Nava on his critical academic reception? A second issue that follows from the previous one is the hypothesis that each edition of the book Baú de Ossos produces effects on its reception, on the creation of academic articles and critical texts. The research corpus included the various editions and relaunches of this same work: the first edition released in 1972 by Editora Sabiá / José Olympio, and subsequent editions of the same publisher, the relaunch in the 1980s by Editora Nova Fronteira and Círculo do Livro, and the revised critical editions to from the manuscripts edited in 2003 by Editora Ateliê Editorial, and their relaunch in 2012 by Editora Cia. Das Letras. The concept of paratext (GENETTE, 2009), will contribute to the analysis of the reception and verification of several editions which will allow us to evaluate how the work was received and generated critical texts over the years. Using the concept of editorial paratext, these new elements lead to new readings, new receptions, which in a spiral movement that feeds the author's critical fortune. The theoretical framework of analysis used to think about the critical reception of Nava's work rests on assumptions of the aesthetics of reception. As a methodological process, besides evaluating the various available editions of the work observing the paratext in the form of prefaces, afterwords, explanatory notes, images, documents and critical texts, a bibliometric research was conducted on research related to the memorialistic works of Pedro Nava. a classification by date, subject, work and approach. Thus, it was quantified the reception of the work in terms of academic works and its relationship with the paratext present in different editions.
