A cinefilia na cidade de São Paulo (1940-1966)(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2017) Barbosa, Diego Ramos [UNIFESP]; Villaça, Mariana Martins [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9020046743817649; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)The phenomenon known as cinephilia has began in 1940 in São Paulo, with the creation of the Cine Club of Philosophy School of the University of São Paulo, founded by Paulo Emílio Sales Gomes. It has been present in the life of the city since then, due to the contextualization of the establishment of cinema, an increase in the number of cinema theaters, and the appearance of several producers and cultural institutions. The aim of this work is to follow the development of such phenomenon in the years of 1940, 1950 and 1960 with a focus on the urban spaces that were used, as they were key to the perpetuation and propagation of the cinema in the city. The work of the Friends of the Cinematheque Society and the group of cinema buff, formed by the students Rogério Sganzerla, Andrea Tonacci and some other students of the Cinema School of the School of Economics of São Luís (ESC) was used as guidance. To better illustrate and contextualize the discussion presented here, the last part of the study provides an analysis of the short film Documentário (1966) by Sganzerla, which shows the integration of the city, cinemas theaters and cinephilia.
